Hair
Removal Frequently Asked Questions
Is it painful?
No. It doesn't hurt.
There's a slight amount of discomfort at times, but if it was
that unbearable no-one would have any of their bits waxed! It's
probably best to avoid the time around your period as your skin
can feel extra sensitive. Some people like to take a couple of
headache pills/painkillers prior to a long waxing appointment.
Do I need to wear anything
specific?
If you are having a
full leg or bikini wax you will have to remove your skirt or trousers,
but I have a nice big white towel you can cover your modesty with.
If you are having a bikini wax it is best not to wear your best
knickers as you do not want to risk getting wax on them. Don't
mind me - wear your worst, I won't be judging you!
How often will I need
to wax?
Freshly waxed skin
will normally remain hair-free for three weeks. Lots of people
are lucky enough for the waxing to last up to six weeks. It depends
entirely on how quickly your hair normally grows back. Waxing
is known to slow and soften the hair growth, so the benefits of
getting into a regular waxing routine far outweigh shaving and
depilatory creams.
How long does my hair
have to be?
Your hair, be it leg,
underarm or bikini, ideally needs to be no shorter than 5mm (0.5
cm or 1/4 "). An acurate example of the minimum hair length
required for successful waxing is this capital i > I <
